It’s nearly time to get on the airplane from Narita to Brisbane and then to Wellington! Narita was very busy, but we are all happy and excited to begin our adventure!
We began the day in a very sunny Brisbane, and smoothly switched planes to our destination, Wellington. We all felt a little tired, but as the plane began its bumpy descent into Wellington, we could feel the excitement and nerves building! Everyone passed through the immigration without a problem, and finally we had arrived in New Zealand! It was cold and wet outside, but we felt very warm inside! The big challenge for today was to meet host families, say goodbye to our friends and really begin our NZ adventure. We gathered in a room in the school, and in pairs, the students greeted their new families and went out into an unknown, but friendly and exciting world. See you all tomorrow, after a good long sleep in a real bed!
Today was our last day at Paraparumu College, and it was full of joyful, emotional moments! First, we had our last English class with Debbie. She has been so kind, and these classes have given everyone a chance to practice their English in a comfortable environment! Thank you, Debbie! In the evening, it was time for the final party with host families and buddies from school! Students prepared food with their families, and we all ate delicious meals! Local fish and chips were provided by school! Thank you! Tosa students added the entertainment with singing, dancing, and a magnificent calligraphy performance! Finally, each Tosa student gave a short speech. They talked about how they overcame difficulties, had new experiences, but mostly about how kind and welcoming the host families have been. There was laughter, there were tears, and many wonderful memories! Thank you, Paraparaumu College!
