It’s nearly time to get on the airplane from Narita to Brisbane and then to Wellington! Narita was very busy, but we are all happy and excited to begin our adventure!
We began the day in a very sunny Brisbane, and smoothly switched planes to our destination, Wellington. We all felt a little tired, but as the plane began its bumpy descent into Wellington, we could feel the excitement and nerves building! Everyone passed through the immigration without a problem, and finally we had arrived in New Zealand! It was cold and wet outside, but we felt very warm inside! The big challenge for today was to meet host families, say goodbye to our friends and really begin our NZ adventure. We gathered in a room in the school, and in pairs, the students greeted their new families and went out into an unknown, but friendly and exciting world. See you all tomorrow, after a good long sleep in a real bed!
All of the students arrived at school (almost) on time, after sleeping well in a new bed in a new family in New Zealand! The first experience today was the Māori welcoming ceremony, Powhiri! It was an amazing experience - but a little scary! Then it was time to meet buddies and go to classes, just like a normal student! All the students are doing their best and trying very hard! Great job, everyone!
